Our Ingredients

Tapioca

Tapioca is made from the root of the cassava plant, a tropical vegetable native to South America and also grown in SE Asia.

The root is washed, peeled, dried, ground, and evaporated leaving behind either a starchy powder (for our hard candies) or a syrupy liquid (for our gummies).

Pectin

Pectin is a naturally occurring thickener/stabilizer extracted from citrus/apple peels leftover after juice production.

The peels are washed, dried, and processed in hot water. The solids are separated out before evaporating the remaining liquid, leaving behind the pectin powder.

Colors

Our colors come from natural sources - nothing artificial here. We use extracts from fruits/vegetables, turmeric, and spirulina to create the vivid shades in our lollipops and other treats.

Natural Flavors

Our flavors include essences, oils, and extracts from various plants. These are emulsified (evenly disbursed) in organic sunflower oil before being added to our candies.

Ascorbic Acid

This is where the Vitamin C comes from in some of our candies. The production process is similar to citric acid.

Citric Acid

Our citric acid is produced from the fermentation of non-gmo corn like most commercially available citric acid. This acts as a preservative and adds some of the sour flavor in our sweets.

And... that's it. No crazy chemicals, secret sub-ingredients, or high-intensity sweeteners.

Koochikoo's candies are about as clean as they come - our peppermint drops only have TWO ingredients!
